A
s the town approaches critical votes on the proposed 28.
8 million dollar Music Instructional Space
and Auditorium (MISA) project, the recent results
of the Western Regional band and chorus auditions
send a resounding call for the project’s approval.
GHS students took over one-third of all band and chorus seats in
these highly competitive regional groups.
To put this accomplishment in perspective, the number of GHS musicians accepted to
the Western Regional competition nearly equals the total number
of students in many District Reference Group (DRG) A and B
districts’ entire programs.
When you add in the numerous awards
going to our students in orchestra, theater arts and electronic
music and the high percentage of GHS students who participate
in our music and theater programs, there is much to be proud of
and to celebrate.
The bottom line is that we have the instructors
and programs in place.
