JROTC battles to victory
Every year, thousands of students compete in the SkillsUSA
competition that is part of the National Career and Technical
Education Month.
The winners from PSLH included two students in Web
Design and three students in Carpentry.
In Web Design,
Michael Whalen and Rebecca Shirwin teamed up and took
second place.
In Carpentry, the winners were Adam Long
(first place), Christian Nowacki (second place), and Diamond
Salazar (third place).
Mr.
Tony Malizia, carpentry instructor,
has had students qualify for state on consistent basis, year
after year.
“It is an exceptional opportunity for my students to compete
at the state level and I am very proud of their work and their
skills,” said Malizia.
The web design students competed for the first time as
SkillsUSA members.
