Dear Friends, Dear Comrades,
You, like hundreds of other labour, political and trade union activists from 52 countries,
participated in the Open World Conference against War and Exploitation that was held
in Algiers on the 27th, 28th and 29th of November 2010.
Already, on the strength of the success of this conference, organised jointly by the
Workers Party of Algeria and the UGTA confederation, the first meetings to report on
the work done have been organised in various countries, arousing real interest.
All of the speakers emphasised the necessity for uniting workers and peoples worldwide, a unity that can impede the sweeping of humanity into catastrophe, as already witnessed in Haiti and Afghanistan, catastrophe that is the consequence of the persistent
survival of an economic system founded on exploitation and capitalism.
