Note from the Institute Leadership Team (ILT)
As we get ready to turn the page of the calendar to September, the “Month of Mercy,” we are
already joined with the global Mercy community in praying the 30 Days prayer for the 20th
anniversary celebrations of Mercy International Association. And once again we are called to
deepen the claim our God of Mercy has on our hearts. We are living in a time desperately in
need of compassion and mercy both near and far. For those of us who live in the U.S. in
particular, the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, compels us to
reflect and pray on unreconciled racism. Let us live the mercy which is revealed in the lives and
struggles of those who are suffering.
