May 31, 2018 Note from the Institute Leadership Team Earlier this week, about a dozen Sisters of Mercy from the areas of Silver Spring, Maryland; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; New Jersey; and New York gathered for a wonderful opportunity to engage younger sisters who recently authored In Our Own Words: Religious Life in a Changing World. The panel’s coordinator and co-editor of the book, Juliet Mousseau, RSCJ, remarked that the authors wanted to write a book about what “they wanted to read about religious life today.” The writers include Sister Amanda (Mandy) Carrier, who authored the chapter titled “The Compassion the World Needs Now.” The sister-writers provided a challenging invitation to reflect on their own experience and then offer that reflection to their sister congregations.
