Memory lapses are normal parts of aging, but by age 85 as many as 50 percent of people exhibit more serious signs of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease. One in three seniors dies with dementia. Recognizing the need for special care and understanding of sisters with dementia, the Community Leadership Team asked Mary Johnson, director of retirement services, to develop a plan offering guidance and support to staff and sisters.
