A National Study of
Voter Registration List Quality:
Outdated Systems, Outdated Rolls
Our democratic process requires an
efficient system for maintaining accurate
voter registration information.
Voter
registration lists are used to assign voters
to precincts, to send sample ballots, to
provide polling place information, to
identify and verify voters at polling places
and to determine the amount of election
resources, such as paper ballots and
voting machines, needed on Election Day.
Poor voter registration list quality wastes
effort and money.
And problems with
voter registration lists undermine voter
confidence and fuel partisan disputes over
the integrity of our election system.
