Leeds Local Improvement Finance Trust has announced financial close.
The move
marks the official formation of Leeds LIFT Ltd, a new company owned by Leeds City
Council, the 5 PCT’s in Leeds, Primaria and Partnerships for Health.
The new company will bring together health and social care organisations, local
government, and private sector companies to deliver a co-ordinated approach to
improve community-based services and facilities
The investment will allow the contracting authorities, which include the 5 Primary
Care Trusts in Leeds, Leeds City Council, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Leeds
Mental Health Teaching NHS Trust and West Yorkshire Metropolitan Ambulance
Service to develop facilities in areas where they are really needed.
LIFT also
supports the Council’s objectives by stimulating regeneration and helping create
training and employment opportunities for local people.
