This paper presents a description of the Constructor, a tool implemented in Javascript, which constructs queries for searching Brazilian and European Portuguese corpora available on the Web through the Linguateca project (http://www.linguateca.pt). It is shown how non-programmers, without knowledge of the query language of the underlying corpus processor (IMS Corpus Workbench), can create in an interactive and intuitive way by means of this program quite complex queries for the investigation of concrete questions in the areas of Portuguese syntax, morphology and lexicology.
