Are Some Owners of Care Businesses their Own Worst Enemies? - What Do You Think?
The care business – adult day care, assisted living, and home health care – is
no different than any other in many ways.
This includes how those in
managerial positions must treat others.
Sometimes in a quest to please
contract agencies and in battling personal insecurities, some managers
develop very gruff exteriors.
This can transfer into how personnel are
treated.
On occasion, without even realizing it, a supervisor may demean through
usage of words or otherwise indignify an employee or multiple employees
and this will come back to hurt us in many ways.
Unfortunately in this
business some family members of our residents may be quite detached from
the person you are providing residential care for, sometimes, albeit shameful
its due to the stigma of mental illness.
So circumstances are not favorable to
the development of customer service skills.
Adult day care is often different.
