Even in the care
business it can be
hard to predict
when a bad situation will crop up.
It
just happens.
I
know of case managers accused of
ignoring the needs
of a client in favor of
a poorly qualified
services provider.
I know of guardians who have been publicly accused of
manipulating assets of protected persons in an awful
scheme to self enrich.
I know of home care companies
who have hid knowledge of abuse on the part of their
staff and I know of residential services providers, (i.
e.
assisted living) who have become so disconnected from
the day-to-day operations of the business they fall into
the trap of not really knowing what is going on in the
business.
I know of agencies under contract with mental health
authorities to manage service delivery who have been
accused of gross favoritism, contract manipulation and
who have fallen into serious financial mismanagement.
