The Fuelcard Company has advised fuel card users and subscribers to ensure that they take due
diligence and care in the use of fuel cards.
A recent study during the ‘Car Awareness Week’ has
disclosed startling facts on the increased fraud threat to the fuel card users.
The fuel card fraud has risen
by 6% over the past 2 years and the fraud cost stands at £40 million.
Company’s Manager, Mr.
Colin Peters, said that ‘Most fuel card users can prevent fraudulent
transactions by taking small common sense steps.
A fuel card is much like any other card that could
expose you to the risks associated with financial instruments if the card security is not given due
significance.
’
The Company has already established guidelines for potential fuel card applicants and old users of fuel
and fleet cards.
Mr.
Peters said that most fuel card users tend to overlook basic security features that are
built-in the cards.
