Staring glumly at the wall, it appeared the boy meant to do exactly that.
Theo sighed.
For six years, he and the boy had spent an hour a week staring at
each other, never saying a word and making no more progress than what was recorded in
the surprisingly thin file almost collecting dust on Theo’s desk.
“What’s the use of spending this time together if you aren’t going to talk?”
As usual, no answer.

Theo Wallace opened the boy’s file and sifted through the papers.
There was
very little to find there that he hadn’t already read and reread a hundred times.
