Why Your Vehicle’s AC Compressor Fails ?
Before we start, let us find out the main parts of an AC compressor.
AC system has the
high pressure side and a low pressure side.
The refrigerant gas is drawn to the suction side
compresses and sent to the compressor.
Condenser is the area which heat dissipation
occurs.
The gas condenses and gets transferred to the evaporator.
The warm air is carried
off to the pressure regulating devices and from there to the orifice tube.
The gas goes to the
valve for thermal expansion.
Then to the receiver – drier and finally to the accumulator.
Mostly, the AC compressors fail due to two reasons via time and hours of operation and
abuse.
If the refrigerant leaks through the compressor or O-ring then there is a possibility of
the compressor giving way.
Many other failures can happen to the AC compressor.
It can
get shorted, experience a bearing failure, piston failure, etc When you engage the
compressor, and if the magnetic clutch is not engaging w
