Parts of the Restaurant
• The Entrance/ The Front Door

Remarkable Service begins here.
The “Front Door” serves as an
advertisement and predictor of the dining experience.
It triggers guest
expectations.
Expectations that must not only be met, but exceeded.
• Focal Points
o things/ areas in the restaurant that we want guests to focus on
o can consist of the bar, centerpieces, lighting effects, paintings, the
wine display…etc.
• The Bar
o May be a public or service bar or both
o Where beverages are located, prepared or stored.
o Where beverage service takes place.
• The Floor
o Main dining area
o Seating may be arranged according to reservations of the day, or if
there is a particular function occurring
o Must be arranged in a way the promotes the best
