Healthy High was first launched
in 2008 to raise the profile of
DRUG ARM and to educate
people about the harm
associated with excessive alcohol
consumption, encouraging them
to reduce their alcohol intake.
Adult participants were
encouraged to make a promise
not to consume alcohol for a
period of ten days from 1929 June 2009 (incorporating
Drug Action Week).
Registered
participants sought sponsorship
support from employers, friends
and family and primarily raised
funds online using Everyday
Hero.
Politicians and celebrities
across Australia also got
involved, helping us to exceed
our financial targets, and
most importantly generating
conversations around reducing
alcohol-related harm in our
communities.
Binge drinking has
become problematic and Healthy
High is a positive and uplifting
campaign to help bring about
a change in attitude around the
misuse of alcohol.
