Baking Soda to Treat Gout
Baking soda is a common household good, but did you know that it can be used to treat
gout? If your house is like most you probably have many uses for baking soda.
It is in the
cabinets to use in baking, in the refrigerator and freezer to combat smells, and maybe in
the bathroom for use in gargles and dental care.
One of the other uses for baking soda is to
dissipate the acids that cause gout.
You might not even realize that your gout is caused by uric acid build up.
Uric acid is formed
when you have too many purines in your system.
This uric acid then crystallizes, the
crystals settle in the joints and cause the red, hot, painful swelling that is associated with
gout.
Usually the swelling is in the feet or in the big toe, but it can occur in any joint in the
body.
You can go to a medical doctor and get a pharmaceutical prescription to treat your
symptoms.
Or you can use baking soda which you most likely have on hand.
Baking soda should be taken disso
