There are many factors to consider before going on a first date.
Whether you have been in a
relationship before, or not, the same questions come to mind: How do I meet a potential (-possible) partner? What should I wear? Where should we go? etc.
However, the first question to
think about should always be: What am I looking for?
Before you start dating, it is important to develop a list of goals and desires.
What do you intend to
do with your own life in the near future? What qualities or characteristics must a person possess to
be compatible with you? By valuing and developing your own goals and emphasizing (-- focusing
on) your own distinctive (-- looked at as special) qualities you will develop a confidence and selfreliance that others find attractive.
When you are making a list of goals and what you find attractive about someone else, it is
important to note if you possess these same qualities.
