CHAPTER 1 -- HOMECOMING
Geltharin pulled his cloak a little closer about himself pulling his hood up over his dark brown
hair as he made his way from the stables, leaving his beloved steed Windfoot, a dark chestnut colored
horse, to munch on a dinner of oats and hay.
His light-blue gaze took in the full moon just rising
above the rim of the world, as he turned toward the house where he had been raised since he was a
small child.
It was not often that he was able to come back home, and his father knew he would be
arriving today, yet no one came out to greet him, and the house was dark.
‘Perhaps they have already
gone to bed.
’ He thought.
After all they would have been expecting him in the early afternoon.
He
inwardly cursed the broken horseshoe that he had to replace at a local Blacksmith along the way, that
delay had caused him to miss what would certainly have been a fabulous meal.
