Murphy. Joseph J. Murphy joined the Ontario Department of Lands as a clerk about 1882, and retired in 1922 after rising to the position of advisory chief clerk of the sales and free grants branch of the Department of Lands and Mines. Throughout his life, he was involved in Roman Catholic charitable work, especially in the St. Vincent de Paul Society in which he served as president, 1923-1924. He was, in Toronto, a communicant at St. Basil’s, on the campus of St. Michael’s College in the University of Toronto. He died, at home in Toronto, on 25 July 1934. || For best viewing, download PDF.
