Iraqi Vice President Tariq
al-Hashimi apparently will
veto the election law once
again following amend-ments Iraq’s Parliament
inserted in the law during a
session on Monday.
Kurd-ish lawmakers warn about
“complicating the politi-cal process once the law is
vetoed again,” while Sunni
members firmly protested
against the recent changes as
it allocates further seats for
Kurdish provinces.
According to a FIFA
decision, Iraq will no
longer be able to take
part in international
football tournaments.
That decision prevents
Iraq and Iraqi clubs
from playing official
and friendly games with
outside teams.
