Twenty years ago, we organized the
Pineland Preservation Alliance to insure
the Pinelands Commission did what it
was supposed to do - preserve, protect
and enhance the Pinelands National
Reserve.
PPA’s mission was to support
the Commission when it did things right,
and oppose it when it strayed from its
course.
It drew its initial members from
the Pinelands Coalition.
The Coalition and its membership of
environmental organization leaders were
primarily responsible for getting the federal and state Pinelands Acts through the
