Pair talk: To identify three key points from the previous lesson’s work on acids, alkalis and
indicators.
Each pair has two minutes to agree the three key points before feeding back.
Or each pair agrees on three questions they want to ask about the topic they are currently
studying.
Pairs to fours: This can be used with traditional test style questions.
Pupils do the question
in pairs and then go to a larger group e.
g four or even six and agree on an A3 version which
they then share with the rest of the class.
Listening Triads: This could be made into a game, like pictionary, where the cards have a
picture (apparatus, a graph, labelleddiagram of a cell etc.
) based on the topic being studied.
