“We have seen the peace on their
face as they snuggle down into
their bed, no longer afraid to go to
sleep with lights out.
” Every child
deserves the right to experience that
type of loving environment.
But,
in today’s world, that simply is not
reality.
Today’s reality is that we have
children experimenting with drugs
and sex at younger ages.
We have
children joining gangs because
it is a place for them to belong
and teenagers committing suicide
because they feel hopeless.
We even
have children living homeless!
We see children, through no fault
of their own, being pulled from
unsafeconditions
– some are
reunited with
relatives; some
are adopted into
loving homes;
but many are
bounced from
foster home to
foster home until
they “age out
of the system”
– they turn 18
and are no lo
