Seeing God In His Sons & Daughters

I was visiting my hundred year
old aunt in the dining room of a
nursing home when a passerby
exclaimed, "I can see you two
are related, the resemblance is
clearly noticeable!"
We both chuckled knowingly,
since we were
not physically
related, but only
through her
marriage to my
dad s brother.
It became an
ongoing joke
between us until
her death five
years later.
But
even though this
was a case of
mistaken identity,
relatives do
often resemble
each other in
many ways, both
physically and
inwardly.
We also resemble God in
many ways when we become
his sons and daughters.

Galatians 4:4-7) Obviously,
we can t be compared to God
physically because He s a spirit.
(See John 4:23-24) But just as
Christ resembled the Father, (See
John 12:45) we also resemble
God inwardly when He comes
to dwell in us.
