The Christian Journal’s Journey In 2010.
.
.
I don’t believe I’ve written
anything as important to me
as what I am about to share.
The closest I have ever been
to reaching many about what
I treasure and hold dear to my
heart, was when I was presented
a trophy for my essay in 8th
grade entitled “What It Means
To Me To Be An American.
” It
was an international competition
in which I placed third and
was presented a certificate
along with the trophy,
by John Glenn when he
visited Tehran American
School in Iran (Persia)
I have lived a very
unusual life in that I was
a product of an Iranian
(Atheist/Moslem) and
American (Agnostic/
Protestant) marriage.
My father came to the
US when he was just a
teenager and attended East
Lansing High in Michigan
where he met and fell in
love with my mother.
I was
born his sophomore year
at Michigan State.
