town where crime, poverty and a lack of
education are keeping many people in
“bondage.
”
This historic church, which serves a
predominantly African American congregation, has been a Community of Shalom
site since 2007.
“Sometimes it feels as though folks
have almost forgotten about this part of
town and its people.
We at Neely feel
strongly that our congregation should
become a part of the solution and not be
part of the problem,” said Rev.
