Central Park Ain Témouchent, Algeria 3181. ALG 2007 Award Cycle Client: Ain Témouchent Housing Authority Built Area: 8’000 m² Cost: US$ 310’810 The park provides much-needed green space for the new town of Ain Témouchent. It has three components, each with a distinct character. The lower part is designed along the lines of a traditional Islamic garden, and incorporates a botanical garden with specimens of almost all the ornamental plants found in Algeria. The upper part uses the same construction materials but has a totally different function, as an urban forest providing refreshing shade during the summer.
