To make a country, completely at peace, with enormous diversity, all working together to make the best world possible? Sounds fine to me. Too bad it doesn’t work in the real world like it does on paper, sort of like Communism. Do not get me wrong; I am not opposed to this law. I am, however, opposed to its implementation. When millions upon millions of soldiers come to invade and occupy your country I would presume a little bit of a defensive attitude on the behalf of the original inhabitants. I guess I should come out and tell you part of the story. The beginning, at least. I live in the year 2187. The United States, Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, and Germany have all survived a global shift in society and government. Violent revolutions had swept across the world years before, uprooting democracy and instead placing Communism in its place. T

We were about to turn into a street that would take us to town when we heard a blast that sounded like the earth ripping itself open. I looked back and caught a glimpse of a figure in pink pajamas dropping down to the paved street. My heart clenched, but then the view was gone from sight, blocked by a parked car. Ray saw the look on my face and asked, “What’d you see? What happened? Tell me!” I shook my head no and gasped, “To town. ” He didn’t look happy, but fell silent and kept running. I knew what had just happened. After all, I had just seen it happen. My mother had been shot. Somehow, I knew she was dead. I saw the way she dropped to the road limply. That wasn’t all of it.
