A big thanks to Sarah (and Hajo), for organising a very successful and enjoyable trip to South Africa. Also, thanks to Paul for the Red Sea Liveaboard trip, Brian and Paul for organising the various weekend dives, plus Steve, Hajo,Alan and Chris for various training sessions and dives from the ribs. Lastly, thanks to all who came down to Hayling Island for the club picnic and to those who helped to make it a success. Well, it’s now 2008 and we can look forward to the NewYear and plenty of diving. Paul and Brian have put together a varied and interesting dive programme to cater for all levels of divers in a variety of locations in the UK. For those who want to get away further, Paul has booked a Red Sea live aboard in May and a long weekend trip to Malta in November. In addition, there is a trip to South Africa organised by Sarah, also in May. This does not include the RIB, which you are encouraged to use. Not quite diving weather, however, I know that a number of you have been out diving in the UK in January, so well done, my first dive probably won’t be until April unless I go somewhere a bit warmer. It was good to see that we packed in numerous dives both in the UK and abroad last year. This year’s programme also looks impressive. I was surprised to see just how many dives have already been booked up in the UK, as it was thought that with the current credit crunch, these would be down. SCOUTS TRY OUT SURREY AQUANAUTS “The Second Cuddington Scout Group recently enjoyed a scuba diving taster session at Woking’s Pool in the Park with the Surrey Aquanauts Scuba Diving Club. Surrey Aquanauts are members of the British Sub-Aqua Club and were pleased to be able to give twenty scouts the opportunity to try out scuba diving first hand. After an initial safety briefing poolside, the scouts were kitted out with full scuba equipment and were given an hour each underwater with the clubs qualified instructors. In addition to the club dives, a trip to the Red Sea was organized by Sarah Roozendaal which was very popular with all those who traveled. Further dives included Mull plus various training dives to Stoney Cove and Swanage. TheTuesday night training session at Littleton Pit was as popular as ever with the new trainees!
