Botany Public School Wiki Purpose of the wiki The students at Botany Public School will be participating in a school wiki. A wiki is a contemporary web 2. 0 tool that the school has been trialing in class 4H with great success. It is designed to replace the existing Botany HomeLink that is currently hosted on the KidSpace Portal. Evidence suggests that wikis in education enhance students’ learning experiences and deepen the levels of learner’s engagement and collaboration within a digital learning environment. A wiki is essentially a web site where its content can be edited by anyone who has access to it, or certain parts of it. In its initial stage, the school wiki will provide a link for study between home and school, incorporating websites, homework pages or tasks related to current units of work. The Parents Page will host newsletters, advice on various educational issues, links to DET policies and technology tips etc. The wiki can only be accessed by Botany students/parents Less
