Soon the Orpheum theater in South Bend, Indiana, was leased by the Orpheum Circuit and this larger responsibility was given over to Plannery, his direction was also extended later to the New Palace theater when it was built by this circuit in that city. It was in 1925 when the circuit had expanded to a great extent that a district manager was required in the Chicago territory and Plannery was chosen for the position.
