Find out what the models, Daniel, Lina and Nick, had to say about their experiences of modelling. Hilary Fletcher turned to Models Direct looking for models for three different scenarios to feature in the book. For the first, a young man with a playing age of 1718 was needed to pose in his room looking at a calendar. It was 18-year-old Dan who was selected for the role. It was the first time modelling for Dan and he was pleased with how the assignment went. “Being a model for the first time felt great and was really exciting,” Dan explained to the modelling agency after the assignment. “The place where the photoshoot was done was really nice and everyone made me feel welcome and helped with the shoot. The day kicked off at 10:30am when the women arrived at the venue. They changed into their outfits and then it was down to work, handing out gift bags, talking to the public and promoting the store. They were even asked to pose for pictures by people attending the event. The client came over to me and showed me the breakdown of the photoshoot and explained the idea behind it. “Another Great Assignment” for Models Direct’s Ashleigh and Shae-Love Last month saw Models Direct child models Ashleigh and Shae-Love feature in yet another assignment for online fancy dress store Smiffy’s, making a total of seven assignments for the pair with this highly valued client. The young models obviously aren’t getting bored as their feedback shows. Smiffy’s selected six-year-olds Ashleigh and Shae-Love, along with four other child models, to take part in a clothes fitting followed by some photographic assignments. All of the models even got to choose a fancy dress outfit to play in when all the hard work was over. Fitting models are required to give clothes a test run, commenting on how the garment feels to wear, how it sits on the body and how comfortable it is, sometimes in front of potential buyers. The London museum was looking for one male and one female model to feature in advertising campaigns. Read on to find out more. The Science Museum needed models with oval faces, nice ears and no fringe for the photo shoot. Models Direct models Jahmel and Karolina were selected for the assignment, for which they had some head shots taken. Models Direct were really happy when they received the models’ feedback to find that they both enjoyed the assignment. While Karolina gave a short and sweet response saying that the assignment was great and she was happy that the photos would be used, Jahmel gave a thorough and humorous account of what happened on the day. Spray some leave-in conditioner on to the knotty area and use a wide-tooth comb to untangle it, starting at the area nearest the ends of your hair. • Messy hair. If your hair is being temperamental and just refuses to stay where you want it to, give in and pull your hair back away from your face. Models Direct recommends creating a small quiff using a two- to three-inch section of hair and securing with hair grips. Recently, two of Models Direct’s more mature male models have enjoyed two very different assignments. The first of these assignments was for Taylor Herring, who selected 49-year-old model Adrian to take on the role of a Morris dancer for the afternoon. Elly at the PR company was looking for a middle-aged, larger male model to be photographed wearing Morris dancing costumes. It might not sound like the most glamorous of modelling assignments but Adrian still really enjoyed his afternoon modelling. “I haven’t had that much fun for a long time,” he reported in his feedback. “The shoot was relaxed, professional, fun.
