SWTOR Class Guide: Smuggler Basics Star Wars: the Old Republic or SWTOR is a massively multiplayer online game that thrusts you avatar first into the Star Wars universe as never before. Players can choose from a wide variety of classes, including the rather clever and cunning Smuggler class, which we’ll be talking about in this first entry. The SWTOR Smuggler class places you in the role of a Han Solo-esque rouge, attempting to smuggle goods to different cities littered across the galactic expanse, all the while making as many SWTOR credits as possible. Let’s face it, every one of us has dreamed of stepping into Han Solo’s legendary boots, and while you can’t quite play as Han, you can do the next best thing. You can create your own law-breaking smuggler, and you can make the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs… if you’re good enough. Needless to say, a healthy purse full of SWTOR credits will help level up your character even faster, and yes, IGE will be carrying SWTOR credits. S

SWTOR Class Guide: Bounty Hunter Advanced Classes If ruthlessness was the sole gauge of strength, then the advanced classes for Bounty Hunters would probably be considered the most powerful class in the game! The Powertech has a flamethrower, defensive energy shields and all the formidability of a tank. Powertechs focus on defensive tactics and powerful flame-based attacks to destroy their enemies. Their prototype armor also lends them a high degree of protection from any and all attacks. Powertechs are frontline hulks, capable of bearing the brunt of damage as a tank or doling out punishment as a damage dealer. This type of Bounty Hunter is not one to shy away from a direct confrontation, in part because he or she is fortified in Heavy armor, the most protective kind in the game. Mercenaries, as their name suggests, take on any mission for a price. They can dual wield guns, shoot missiles and heal themselves during combat. Their heavy weapons arsenal can obliterate the obstacle

SWTOR Class Guide: Jedi Consular Advanced Classes After honing their basic negotiation and combat skills, the Jedi Consular can choose to specialize between two advanced classes: the Jedi Shadow and the Jedi Sage. The Jedi Shadow is a stealth-based class that focuses on skills such as infiltration, kinetic combat and balance to hide from enemies and strike out at them at the last minute. Surprise is a major advantage for this class. True to their name, Jedi Shadows are masters in subterfuge and quick-strike combat. Their precision attacks using double-bladed lightsabers and full use of Force resources can bring down even seemingly invulnerable foes. They can act as a damage dealer and as an evasive tan, which is one of the rare times when a Light armor class can do so in any MMO. The Jedi Sage is renowned for their ability to distort reality and tear apart enemies viciously. They also have mastered the ability to heal allies and cast protective spells around them that ward off a

SWTOR Class Guide: Bounty Hunter Basics Star Wars: The Old Republic is an incredibly massive and complex game that gives you access to several different class archetypes that feature in the Star Wars universe. One of the most infamous of these classes is the Bounty Hunter class. This class is typified best by the popular Boba Fett who gained a worldwide cult following for simply being so incredibly cool! Bounty Hunters can perhaps be considered the greediest class in the game. They don t feel particular allegiance to either the Republic or the Empire, the latter of which is technically their official faction, but simply exist to make as much money as they can. Bounty Hunters can run the spectrum from amoral to completely immoral as long as they get what they want. They won t hesitate to kill anyone standing between them and their bounty. Getting down and dirty is par for the course in the often short but exciting life of a Bounty Hunter. As a result, the Bounty Hunter is a lot o

SWTOR Class Guide: Sith Warrior Basics In the widely popular massive multiplayer online game, Star Wars: The Old Republic, players have the opportunity to play as one of the darkest and most ruthless characters in the Star Wars Universe: the Sith Warrior. This class excels in fast-paced, close-quarters combat and executes an endless frontal assault with Dark Side abilities. Players seeking a melee advantage will want to select this character class. Seething with anger and bloodlust, the Sith Warrior is the polar opposite of the disciplined Jedi Knight. Their vindictive nature is feared across the galaxy, and they will stop at nothing to erase the order imposed by the Jedi and install a more ruthless structure, one defined by power and iron might. Players interested in utilizing powers possessed by such Dark Side favorites as Lord Vader, Emperor Palpatine, and Darth Raven should consider investing into this character template. Sith Warriors have an immense willpower, but their tru

SWTOR Class Guide: Jedi Consular PART 1 Welcome to the IGE SWTOR class guide for the Jedi consular, teaching you the basics of this martial mediator. Star Wars: The Old Republic thrusts you deep into the famed Star Wars universe, allowing players to control a wide variety of classes usually only seen in the expanded universe of comics and books, or just hinted at in the movies. One such class is the Jedi Consular. The Jedi Consular is essentially the Republic negotiator or diplomat, especially prevalent during the days of conflict with the Sith, and is best represented by famed Jedi Master, Yoda. As you might imagine, the Jedi Consular class knows how to use the Force to kick Sith butt, but true to their representation on film, they are also very intelligent, thoughtful, and diplomatic, with the Force beatdown reserved as a last resort. The Jedi Consular uses a double-sided lightsaber to launch quick combo attacks that decimate enemies. They wear little armor because for defense

SWTOR Class Guide: Jedi Knight Advanced Classes In this IGE SWTOR class guide we focus on the paths available to the honorable Jedi Knight class. Once you’ve raised your Jedi Knight to level 10, you now face a crucial decision: Protect the weak as a Guardian or deliver justice as a Sentinel. It’s a tough choice between a defensive and an offensive spec, but you can make it a lot easier for yourself by reading up on each path, and spending your SWTOR credits wisely! The Guardian Path The Jedi Guardian is a defense-oriented option that becomes available to Jedi Knights. This advanced class can take up the role of a tank or damage dealer, using a single lightsaber to fend of opponents and cut through even the most formidable opposition. Jedi Guardians prefer to wear heavy armor under their robes, and wields the Focus resource to protect them and their charges from the brunt of any attack. Because heavy armor is one of the more expensive gear types in the game, players may want to con

After reading this guide, players should have a much better understanding of the Jedi Knight s role in the game as well as the options available to the class. This guide will feature the latest information as well as tips on buying SWTOR Credits for your honorable class. The Jedi Knight s main responsibility in the game is to engage enemies in melee combat. The class is only available to players fighting on the side of the Galactic Republic, and is meant to be a counterpoint to the Sith Warrior class on the Empire faction side. The Jedi Knight needs to get up close to enemies in order to be fully effective, although there are a few Force abilities that feature long-range capabilities. The Jedi Knight has two options available to them regarding their role: choosing to be a tank will let them soak up damage and defend teammate

SWTOR Class Guide: Smuggler Advanced Classes In this SWTOR Class Guide, we take a more in-depth look at the advanced class options available to you when playing as a swashbuckling smuggler. The stealthy Scoundrel uses an all-purpose utility belt which has the rather handy ability to make them invisible. They are also a master of the single blaster, able to make precision shots that can take out distant foes. But what makes them totally indispensable to any team is their medpac, which heals themselves and their allies back to full fighting form. In terms of class roles, the Scoundrel can be equally effective on damage and healing duty. Their designated weapon is the blaster pistol and the scattergun. They can wear Medium armor and use the Energy resource to perform their considerable utility skills. Meanwhile, if you’ve seen the movies, you’ll remember Han’s no slouch with a blaster (he shot first!) and typify the Gunslinger advanced class. Gunslingers also have at their disposa
