The purpose of the present study is to develop an editorial curriculum with an emphasis on textbook
critical editing skills based on Ennis’ approach. The participants were 20 editors from various
publishers. In the study, the participants were trained to be critical editors with manuscript textbook
critical editing knowledge and skills including manuscript analysis and evaluation, copy-editing and
substantive editing, format designing and presenting, and finally correcting the content and information.
