The Beauty of Sydney Opera Home
Perhaps it is its place that has improved the Sydney Opera House's appeal. It pushes Bennelong
Point and is a gorgeous next-door neighbor to Sydney Harbour Bridge. It also shares its majesty
with the Sydney Royal Botanical Gardens close by. It is highly noticeable from any distance, and
its lights sparkle in the clear water to produce a surreal effect. Had it been located somewhere in
the middle of tall skyscrapers, it would have lost a few of its magnificence as the other structures
would have enclosed its charm.
The Sydney Opera Home owes its beauty to the popular designer Jørn Utzon. This Danish
designer did such a terrific job that the opera home was voted as one of the finalists for the New
Seven Wonders of the World in 2007.
The many "sails" that comprise the beegees are made from pre-cast concrete and supported by
