The Law of Detachment states that “When you understand that you can truly own nothing then
you are attached to nothing.

What this means is that we are all here temporarily anyway and to be attached to any of our
possessions is unnecessary.
Not only is it unnecessary to be attached to possessions it becomes a burden.
You can free yourself of this burden of needing to protect things constantly for fear of loss or
damage.
Of course you will take sensible precautions with your possessions but if you detach yourself
from them you will find a sense of freedom like you’ve never known before.
By not attaching emotions to things you are freeing yourself of any power they might have had
over you.
The same applies to people.
Of course you love and care for others but if you apply detachment
you will find yourself less vulnerable to the folly of others.
