An education and science lecturer hopes to change trends of
fewer women entering science
and math fields through a new
program that begins today.
Professor Ashley Campbell
was awarded $11,960 to plan
and implement the Metroplex
Area Gender Equity Institute:
Strategies for Supporting Girls
in Science program.
The College
of Education, the Women of
Texas Instruments Fund and the
Dallas Women’s Foundation
formed the new partnership in
May to increase awareness and
prepare teachers in the Metroplex to use strategies that encourage young women to enter
math and science careers.
