Serving a winning combination of beautiful surroundings and great weather, Nelson is appropriately
hailed as NZ's most 'liveable' cities. Its calendar is marked with a surging inflow of domestic and
international tourists, who travel long distances to lap up its offerings - both natural and manmade.
Here we visit an enduring symbol of Nelson-the famous art-deco Christ Church Cathedral that lords
over the city from atop Trafalgar St. Work on this iconic monument had started in 1925 but this

With a seating capacity for 350 people, the Christ Church Cathedral is 27 metres wide and 58
metres in length. Its tower climbs to a height of 35 metres and is visible from far flung places in
Nelson.
