18 To 34 Year Olds Living At Home Still Stuck At 31%
Life in the US, to our young adults, doesn’t seem to have changed much, now that we are living in our
post-recession years.
Recently data has been released from the US Census Bureau confirming recorded
figures of young adults living with their parents from 1981-2011.
This age range seems to not be ready
to cope with or deal with our hard times and have returned back home to live with their parents and
friends.
Broke and up to their necks in student debt, reduced wages, and less jobs available causes
some to get cleaning jobs and restaurant work.
This has been quite crippling to this age range, as they
have little to no equity, savings, or support built up other than their family’s assistance.
The economy is starting to come back slowly but an article from the USA today stated that
unemployment for young adults still hovers around 12%.
