Google has bought VirusTotal, a free online security service.

purchase can sustains the power of Google to filter infected content from Gmail, Google, and

Reported by Reuters on Sunday (09/09/2012), VirusTotal operates by receiving a request to
check for viruses, run all the protection in the document and the page in question, and then
distribute the results to the security vendor.
Because these results include documents and
websites, this service is considered as a source of valuable information by the security industry
about emerging threats.
“We have worked hard to ensure that the services we offer continue to have the improvement.
But as a small company with limited resources, of course sometimes we get a challenge.
So we
welcome that Google has acquired VirusTotal,” the company stated in its blog.
