Highlights in Prince Edward County
Prince Edward County, located between Montreal and Toronto, east of Kingston and south of Belleville,
is a little piece of heaven at the heart of Ontario.
The ‘island’ is separated from the mainland through a
network of bays and reaches.
The County is one of Ontario’s best areas to explore and experience.
The region is a vast home to thousands of migrant birds during spring and fall.
They park on the
beaches, bays and points as areas for recovery and staging.
The winding shoreline, sand dunes, bluffs,
escarpment, and wetlands provide home to a diverse range of flora and fauna.
The county is sometimes referred to as Quinte’s Isle, Quinte, or PEC.
Prince Edward County has a
number of provincial parks, but three famous parks are the following:
• Sandbanks Provincial Park is known for its large sand dune system --- the largest in the world,
beaches and camping.
• North Beach is famous for its fishing and boating activities.
• Lake on the Mountain
