“Autism awareness” campaigns often show autism in a very bad light, and a great deal of
people call it a handicap.
But autism is a spectrum; some people who have it are disabled and
others do not truly have any type of problems, like myself.
However we tend to be stigmatized
due to the fact that individuals begin seeing autism as an extremely bad thing, and individuals
think we’re disabled also when we’re not.
Is there something people like me could do to fix this
increasing stigma, while not offending those who have autism but do have complications with it?
