In this essay I’ m going to talk about the Ancient
Olympics Games and the Modern Olympic
Games.
In my opinion the Modern Olympic
Games are much better.
On one hand, the Ancient Olympic Games had
only 7 disciplines such as running, wrestling,
boxing, chariot racing, horse racing and
pentathlon.
The aim of the Ancient Olympics was
in honour of the king of the gods, Zeus.
The
prizes for the winners were an olive or laurel
wreath and for the first place and a statue would
be built.
In those years, the Olympics were only
held in Olympia, Greece, only men could
compete and watch because the competitors were
naked.
There were religious ceremonies in
honour of Zeus.
On the other hand, the Modern Olympic Games,
have more disciplines than in the Ancient
Olympics.
The aim of the Modern Olympics is a
method of saluting the athletic talent of
individual sportswomen and sportswomen from
all nations around the world.
