COM TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18TH, 2012 VOLUME XXVI ISSUE 1 BY Ariana Caraffa THE OBSERVER The UGBC budget is divided between its four branches each year: the Cabinet, the Senate, the AHANA Leadership Council (ALC), and the GLBTQ Leadership Council (GLC). This year, the overall budget of UGBC experienced a substantial increase, as did each separate branch’s budget. This increase is due mostly to the increase in the Student Activities Fee, which rose from $298 for the 20112012 academic year to $304 for the 20122013 academic year. The 2012-2013 academic year budget is $595,000. The largest portion of the funds, $352,550, will be allocated to the Cabinet. These funds will be used for campus entertainment, community relations, BC2Boston, and various other programs. Next, $101,890 will be allocated to the ALC for the year.
