It should come as no surprise that social media indicators like Retweets, Facebook Likes, and +1s all play a role in a

The massive study, conducted by an SEO firm called Branded3.
com, proved that there is a strong correlation
between the number of tweets that a URL receives and its position in Google’s search engine results page.
Here’s
how the study worked:
The researchers used a Twitter petition site called Twitition.
com (clever eh?) that had listed a number of different
websites and causes.
Twitter users could sign a petition that supported their cause.
For example, some chose to sign
the petition entitled “Send Justin Bieber to Brazil.
”
When Twitter users signed the petition, a tweet was automatically sent out from their account with that website’s
URL.
