board was established in 1953 to improve education level of Andhra Pradesh State.

State department of Education.
(APBSE), established in 1953, functions as an autonomous body under Andhra Pradesh s department of
education and is responsible to promote secondary education in the state.
The primary function of the
board is to conduct examinations for Class X and Class XII standards at its recognised institutions by
prescribing syllabi and setting question papers.
Declaring of results and giving certificates to the
successful candidates is considered as an important duty of the board.
