Coalition Priorité Cancer au Québec
asking political parties to commit
Montreal, July 31, 2012 – As general elections draw near in Quebec, Coalition Priorité Cancer
au Québec is asking the political parties to pledge support in the battle against cancer.
In a
letter sent out today, the Coalition is asking the leaders of the major political parties to commit
to the following:
1.
set up an open parliamentary commission that will focus on Québec’s cancer situation
during the first year of the mandate;
2.
create a significant ten-year fund, exclusively dedicated to the development of a cancercontrol plan and central coordination of the fight against cancer;
3.
set up an assistance plan for cancer victims and their natural caregivers, specifically by
means of an additional tax credit allocated in the event of serious illness.
