LARRY BENTLEY
THE Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife field rangers gathered at the Centenary Centre on
Wednesday and Thursday (30 and 31 July)
to celebrate International Rangers’ Day.
The event included shooting, cross country, drill, tug of war, relay, assegai throwing
and dancing.
The selected events have a bearing on
the type of work carried out by the rangers on a daily basis, with other fun events
included.
Rangers represented amongst others the
iSimangaliso Wetland Park and uKhahlamba Heritage Area (Drakensberg).
The winning Non-Commissioned Officer
was Siyabonga Zwane from the Western
Region.
Trophies were awarded to the winning
teams in the different events and the
Hluhluwe-iMfolozi team came out tops.
