Moon wins West Texas Amateur
lex Moon, a Dallas native and University of Texas golfer, won the West Texas Amateur at
Weeks Park GC in Wichita Falls by two shots over Sugar Land’s Justin Kaplan, Odessa’s Tim
Graves and Hideaway’s Stetson McMillan.
Moon opened with a 72 on Friday and then a
course-record of 5-under 66 on Friday, then finished with rounds of 70 for a 5-under 208 total.
Kaplan
(68-70-72), Graves (70-68-72) and McMillan (70-67-73) all were at 210.
Amarillo’s Tom Doughtie won
the Senior Division by closing with a 69 to clip Mickey Jones of Odessa by one shot with a 211 total.
Joe Cadle of Wichita Falls won the Super Senior Division with a 227 total.
Tierra Verde hosts North Amateur
